REDMAX GNC FRAMED TWINSHOCK TZ750 !

Our mate Wayne from Gurnsey sent in these pics of his Fantastic TZ750 Flattracker project !

Still under construction as you can see , but we think it's gonna be a stunner !

Main ingredients are - REDMAX GNC twinshock frame (is there anything you can't put in this frame ?) - An ex-sidecar GP Yamaha TZ750 , 4 cyl two stroke racing engine , REDMAX Champion tank n seat units , REDMAX bars , Marzochhi forks and TZ hubs and brakes , 18" alloy rims and REDMAX supplied K180 Dunlops .

Right who's brave enough to ride it then ? - Don't look at me , i have'nt got any bones left to break !!

Can't wait to hear her fired up tho , maybe we can get Kenny over here to have a go ?

This shoulda been a finished shot or two of SJ's XS840 Street Scrambler ....... but the paint is late - very late . so here's a taster snap or two !

This XS400 Street scrambler is just finished and for sale too ....

This is our long term W650 that's finally got a shot of paint , and we're well pleased with that !

Harley XR1000 finally in fine shape , only got to change the tank graphics back to 1000 from 1200 and we're where we wanna be with it .

ROLLERBURN ROCKED MY SOCKS OFF !

Back this mid-day from ROLLERBURN , which obviously was fab .
Great vibe from the start with a lot of like minded Flattrack Hep-cats turning up to display their rockin' bikes around the hall .
Rach said of the Stall/stands there - I've never been to a show where all the stands were interesting , i just don't know where to start ! (however she soon started spending and i'm not sure she stopped !)

It was a cultural mish-mash of art/style/cool/motorsickle mania and music .
Not to mention the surf/skate /cycle culture happening thing going on ....
When am i going to mention the Motorsickle /Rollergirl drag racing and Guy Martin ?
Well , i just did - but first star of the show for me was off his head northern comic - Charlie Chuck - MONKEY !
Anyway when the ROLLERBALL gig started and the Two painted up Co-Builts shot past with Rollergirls sliding on their (sexy) asses past us - then appeared a vision of a third rider on another Co-Built bike towing another Gurl and it was Mr Chuck !
I tell you it was like the ghost of Simoncelli in a 70's dinner suit with a touch of Terets thrown in i even forgot Guy Martin was even there !.
However Rach soon reminded me by tracking him down and Having me take their pic for her !
I got some great Video of that all going on , will load it up when fully awake later .
The minute the Bike engines died out The Stags chimed in hard n fast - anyone who has'nt seen em should and their crazy mix of 60's beat band/garage sounds is worth the trip anywhere .
The first band was just a wall of noise for me - but a lot of people dug it (Hip priests) but i liked the second band from france a lot more (Les terribles) and they had the sound set up a lot better too .
It was great to see a load of my mates over from France too - Hope no-one came a cropper in the Pea soup fog we had all the way home .
You know a thing like this only happens occasionally and i'm glad i was there .
And any time you've been anywhere and wanna tell someone else about it - you know you went somewhere worthwhile and was part of something good .

Thanks to Glenn and Shaun for carting my stall 180 miles and setting it up for me whilst i schmoozed around at the NEC show with Rach that morning !
BIG thanks to the Sideburn team , co-built and Skootafarm boys for makin it happen .
OH and those ROLLERGIRLS for makin it oh so horny .

We are having a stand and bringing 3 bikes for the show (not Rach's Cafe racer tho as she's comitted to the NEC show ) .

Back in the workshop we're nearly done on the XS Streetscrambler we're doing , and we're changing the SR bobber project to a W650 motor next , plus sorting the XR1000 we have for sale (makeover to STD Flatrack spec look).

Other Projects looking good are the AJS 125 Streetracker seen here and our faithfull W650 , now resplendent in Green paint and looking hot !

Yea !!! Finally got a fit to fly letter from my Doc today (day before we fly!) so off to Rhodes for a week - which once the flight is over (in wheelchair !) should be some good rest for my broken bones !

EUROPEAN FLATTRACK ROUND 7

The Mefo Flattrack championship is always a good spectacle , hard riding , great tracks and a fantastic european adventure if you fancy a road trip !

We did the Czech round ( 1 mile track !) a while back with Anthony from Co-built and it was indeed an epic 1000 mile trip , never to be forgotten !

However some are much nearer and i know some English racers were only doing the Euro racing series for the buzz !

So if you get the chance to see one or even ride one - go for it !

Rach is in Carole Nash's Calender this year , with her Harley cafe racer .

It's all part of the Britains got biking talent competition ran by MCN and web based Inside biker for BRITAINS FAVORITE BIKES . Voting has be online via inside bikers facebook page and Rach has reached the top twelve - now her bike will be on display at the NEC show in november and you can get the calender FREE at the years biggest bike show while you're there !

Rachy is fab and deserves a bit of luck after breaking her back last december - and now she's gotta look after me , so this is something nice for her for a change after the year we've had !

Ok , i'm home now - bed downstairs in frontroom ! not feeling to much pain either - which considering the damage ain't bad !
Love Rye house but it don't love me , got the Norton dialled in and was looking forwards to a front row start in the third race - as the Reverend comes off the line like a train , i was expecting a holeshot to the front - which i duly got ! Bliss !

anyway i held everyone off till bout the third lap when i went slightly wide and someone went sliding thru much faster and on out to the barrier (paul Baleta) i remember thinking "thank god he missed me" then something rammed me at a million miles an hour and my bike was removed from under me into the air and deposited on my head ! Someone was way outta control and used me to stop him .
Now , i know when i'm hurt and when you can't move your arm when you tell it to - you got problems - as well as the broken leg and loss of vision i'd broken the top of my arm in 4 places near the shoulder socket - still can't lift it but at least i can feel it now !

The docs don't reckon i'll have any real strength in that arm for a year or so - and they want to put a plate in it which'll put me back even further !

I'm in good spirits here really - but i'm very fucked off to get hit from behind like that - i know who it was and hope he can live with knowing he's put me out of action for a year ,ruined our holliday (no refund there ) and of course i can't earn a living for god knows how long - all because you don't think and ride at the same time !

I thought it might be nice to take my dad along for his first flattrack meeting to watch me ride -and he got to see this , now he's worried that he jinxed my luck - can't see him coming again.

I love Shorttrack and now i can't do it - thanks .

ROCKERS REUNION - GREAT DAY OUT !

Well - the weather turned out fine again and we set up stall near the band , which was nice until we tried to talk over the ruccus !
The stand looked good and drew folk in from miles away - Pauls Yellow Champion yam XS was like Honey to flies ! (thanks again mate !)
Was nice to catch up with many friend from home and overseas ......
We only let cool bikes park outside our stand , all the rice burners and resin rockets were sent on their way .
So we ended up with a couple of 70's Honda cafe racers , a Norvin , a BMW cafe racer , a SR500 streetracker , a Harley Streetracker , a commando cafe racer and a Wacky triumph bobber with 21" wheels front and rear !
Nice to put more names to faces , specially those guys from Europe i was'nt expecting to see (you know who you are !)
So bikes , birds , beer , sun and fun .
Job done (still gotta unload the van n trailer tho....)

WE'RE AT BRIGHTON THIS SUNDAY ! ACE ROCKERS REUNION

Hi guys ! We are having a Stall and bike display along Madera Drive (seafront) - pop on down and see us ! This is a massive Bike meeting stretching several miles along the Victorian seafront - with Cafe racers and customs and our Flattrackers on display . Several Bands will be on stage throughout the day and plenty of stalls to look at from traders and bike clubs .

This was originally a Rockers only run from Chelsea bridge to the seaside organised by Len Patterson , and i have great memories of these runs in the 80's on my Connie and a Slippery Sam T150 ! The police used to block off all the junctions as we headed en-mass to Brighton non-stop , one big pack of Rockers - Kin ace ! Don't s'pose the Police would do that now (fat chance) and the run from the Ace is a very crap route across the smoke which would burn out a Goldie clutch in about 10 mins !
Anybody remember the Rockers Reunion dances at Battersea town hall ? Great rockin affairs over two stories with great atmosphere and hot bands - much better than the diluted gigs held in the (very large) sports hall nowadays in Reading .The Batersea gigs ended when some long hairs stabbed one of their own outside and Batersea council ended the fun !

Still none of that shit going on this weekend - just bike appreciation and burn ups Rocker style - Hell they even let scooters in nowadays !

FOGGY TO RIDE SHORTTRACK , AND WHIT TOO !

Is it just a rumour ? or do these secret squirrel spy cam pics prove it's true ?

Maybe we can expect a high profile starting grid any minute soon !

Foggy dressed in Dainise Red Ducati leathers and Whitham in White/black road race leathers put in a fair few test ride laps on Ade's works Honda 450 (Foggy) and Boastie's 450 Suzuki (Whitham) and showed some pace - Foggy pulling harder and faster out of the turns and Whitham sliding nicely and somewhat stylishly into turn one of our secret test track (Coventry speedway).

There was a Camera team on hand to record the event for posterity , but secret squirrel managed to get some footage for REDMAX followers ! And here it is . Think they were tired by then tho...

What details i do know , is that all present had a good time on a very good track . A "mock" race was staged at the end of the day and Tom Wolley volounteered to film our Stars on track - that meant a camera attached to a full face helmet - mine was the only one , so he had to wear mine amid much mickey taking (mostly concerning wether or not he'd have a Quiff when he took it off !) - i got to wear his (too) small MX lid for the race and goggles that did'nt fit over my glasses ! The "mock" race went well and i'm sure the day will be great for promotion of Shorttrack in the UK !

As a side note , I was there to get some laps in on my Norton after my broken collar bones - and that was a sucsess (after i drained the flooded sump of oil !) as i found the bike fast enough to keep with the 450's and handling was great (now iv'e changed the bent shocks ) and i felt able to hit the apexes at will and wheelie at will too ! - somethings the Harley won't do - on a short track .

So - i'm looking forwards to racing her at the next speedway track race - hell it even comes off the line fast - if you can keep the front wheel down ! Of course as is usual on a vintage bike something went wrong - i pulled off with a misfire and found the brand new motorsport spec on/off switch had vibed apart ! (£30 wasted !). Still i guess i'll have to hard wire the loom past that and just use the kill switch .

REDMAX MOVING TO NEW UNIT !

Needed more space at the old unit and this one came up with the same again upstairs and ten minutes from my gaff !

At similar rental and having a powder coater , welder , sprayer , chromer and town in walking distance - i had to have it .

Two months later i'm in , and we're making the security bars as it has large expanses of glass and door frontage to secure .

This is part of upping our game in order to make a living down here , as it's been a bit part time so far , what with Rach breaking her back and me two collar bones in a row . The rent still comes in , so we gotta catch up and we're going for it - see our new projects on Flickr , we got a BMW cafe racer , a Triumph 500 great escape bike , a Tribsa 650 , Adam's SR500 Bobber and a CB750 Cafe racer , 2 Tritons and a building to decorate !

Both are within a mile n a half from each other , anything Dave Deathspray has on is a good night - likewise SIDEBURN gigs .

ON THIS SUNDAY ......

Ok , so Friday afternoon we drive 175 miles to Wales for the Amman Valley Shorttrack races .

We have one XR 750 and one Vertemati (for Drogo to race !) on board .But by Bristol it's pissing down - hard DAMN IT . Anyway keep going in the vain hope it'll stop , it does'nt ! just gets worse .... I've already said i'm not racing if its wet - as my collar bone is only just back together and the XR is a handfull in the wet , but i've got drogo's bike onboard so we keep going .

Once at Amman Dickie meets us at the gate (Ant's dad ) and we slide on down to the track - it's waterlogged and obvious to me we won't be racing Saturday anyway , but we give it an hour or so as we can't get hold of Drogo and i'm presuming he's riding anyway (even tho it's his first race , i'd have wanted too being keeno) but there's no sign of him to hand the bike over to and i can't leave it unless i can find out if he can get it back home without us , as i'm thinking of turning round and going home ! (rather than sit around and go home Saturday - as i'm not booked in for Sunday which may be dry ?)Also it saved Rach having to sleep in the van - with her bad back ! Bit gutted not to race but hate sitting around in the rain hoping / praying for the sun !

My mate Brian has a 50th party all day Saturday - Hot rod run / Rockabilly band in the Evening and i'd blown him out to go racing , which i felt bad about , but now we had a chance to attend and party - which we did ! Thanks Brian - great party mate .

So onto Sunday and it's gonna be sunny and we're gonna ride !

Cafe racers pulled out (see garage pic - can u choose a ride ? 5 cafe racers in there - 2 Tritons , 1 Norton , 1 Paul Smart and Rach's Salt Lake Spitfire ) Rach takes her Sporty Cafe and i choose a Triton (the 650 as the 750 needs higher gearing ) then we gotta decide where to go - Sammy Millers Museum has a Brit bike ride in , Ace cafe has Cafe racer day and Beaulieu has a ride in day ! hard to choose , but the nicest ride is across the New forest to Beaulieu - decision made !

Once on the road , temp is up in the 20's and we're thundering across some great forest roads and making a mental note to adjust the clip ons down further and raise the gearing , maybe on the front sprocket . Rach's 1200 easily out drags me , but i get her back in the corners and i know she's still a bit apprehensive after her broken back and finding her feet again , she rode great today !

Glad we chose Beaulieu , cos although the ride in event is average at best , we met up with a few good friends there and had free entrance to the museum (which has loads of Brits in there and a Ducati race bike display to rival the factory display !) and the top gear car display , which made us laugh ! and the James Bond hall so Rach could drool over Daniel Craig's body !

The race (ride) home was just as manic as we sliced several cars in half cos they were asleep and stopped for a Sunday roast at a good old British Pub to boot !

Home now Watchin' Simonchelli helping Lorenzo orfa the track at Assen .

The Track was challenging to say the least (bumpy and wet/claggy at times) and Qualifying was treated to a downpour halfway thru - eliminating a few prematurely ! But speaking as a spectator (as i was this weekend) i found the whole thing excelent with rivetting compelling racing right too the end , and big crowd added to the effect too with cheering accompanying any over takes and a gripping final . Mixed in with MX jumping comp and Trials displays and of course a wet GP meeting .
Big thanks and congratulations to the whole Shorttrack UK crew for putting on a good show to the world in general .

Busy building Adam's bobber in the workshop and making our Fonsie bike from a pre-unit Tribsa we had kicking around !

Rach is almost fully recovered from her broken back now , with just six months of phisio and hydrotherapy to look forwards to !(she's back riding bikes and at work now !) and posing as a pin up girl in this pic !

We're stacked out at the workshop and need some more space , gotta move my Mercury out - but can't find a garage long enough to keep it in ! maybe i should sell her ?

Dave Aldana showed he was a true racer riding hard ans crashing hard , wrecking Boasties newly finished suzuki framer .

Pete was pretty beaten up caught against the barrier in Tysons first corner wide overrun taking 4 other riders wide into Pete and the fence .

Dave just bounced up again living up to his "rubber ball" nickname from the 70's .

OH MAN GOTTA BE THERE !

THURS 5 & FRI 6TH MAY , see info on RED poster , Dave will be hosting the Sideburn night (THURS), then racing the following night (FRI) with us Flattrackin' fools !

So in deference to the main man - i gotta be on a Norton - Que the "REVEREND" my latest project - a 850 Commando motor plucked from my caff racer (the Reverend 1) bored to 920 , fitted with a race cam , rebuilt for torque and stuffed into a Knight shorttrack chassias meant to hold a puny Bultaco stink wheel motor .

Of course i hear you say - "that'll never work " , so i include a scan of my aerospace quality calculations for your perusal .

And of course it won't fit in with a gearbox , but the plan was to run a speedway cross shaft instead as they take up 1/4 the space of a gearbag (downside being no gears or neutral !) and being a shorttrack bike i only need to run in one gear on the short speedway tracks we're mainly using !

So i figured it'd be easy and cheap to do - WRONG - on both counts , but i kept my head down with my nose to the grindstone ..... and here he is ..... Ladies n Jellyspoons , i give you ......

The REVEREND 11 .

I was working in the lab late last night when my eyes beheld an eerie sight , the monster from my slab began to rise and suddenly to my suprise ..... it began to run - only after it'd killed my roller starter tho and of course i got a video of the first run , will load that later .

Anyway runs strong , no leaks (yet) and the clutch works . Nice .

All that won't mean a thing if i can't get the gearing in the ballpark tho ,as no gearbag means 1to1 ratio which is akin to top gear normally . So i've got 4 engine sprockets to play with and a selection of final drive sprockets coming from Talon engineering (please arrive soon..) because it's alright running one gear - if it's the right one .

Anyway the build has taken plenty of sweat n tears and may not even be suitable , but it's short n light (which is it's raison d'etre ) and if you want a shorttracker but it HAS to be a Brit - you gotta build one for yourself .

Yikes .

AJS STREETRACKER - PAINT DESIGN COMPETITION !

Had this wierd graphiti one in too !

Had two good designs in from Chris hough above , he says - The Classic is a modern take on an old-school AJS with a slug of JPS bling in the gold pinstriping. 'The Axe' is inspired by a telecaster... candy-apple red and a matt maple with a black pinstripe echoed on the scratchplate, I mean number board. Nice one Chris !

Ok , i love British bikes - always have .

But they've all but gone now .

Triumph are back and Norton are looking good , but when you've got AJS on your doorstep and they're still going (albeit bring Chinese bikes in and re-badging em) - i just think it'd be nice to help out a bit ! Maybe get involved even .

So to this end i thought i'd stick my hand in my pocket and buy the most likely candidate they do and see if we can't make something out of it .

I'm thinking a Streettracker and a cafe racer - cos that's what we do .

Nick brown at AJS is up for it and after several conversations he came up with a bike at trade for me and is getting excited about the prospect of something different for the AJS name .

So we got this strange 125 four-stroke twin (325 also available) back at REDMAX HQ and did a strip down and try-out . This is only day one for the Streettracker and i think it has possibilities , (it's just a mock up at mo) bear in mind we don't want to go too far and price it out of existence so alot of stuff has to stay from the std bike .

Hence the exhaust which seems to work with the seat unit , but is a bit Marmite (love it or hate it !) and the clocks are large and a bit overpowering and i wanted spoked wheels - but we're on a budget here - at least the std tyres are a bit streetracker-ish .

So the red bike is how we got her , and the white bike is our Streetracker mock up - using redmaxspeedshop.com parts - Star racer tank , T140 shorty seat , basketweave pad , oval alloy numberboards , bates lamp and Flanders style bars .

Ok it's just a mock up - but with that box section swing arm , posy shocks , wavy discs and funky exhaust as standard , coupled with our 70's Flattracker makeover and a paint job , i think it'll look pretty cool .

Mind you it's all down to the paint job in the end - which is where you all come in !

This is really an appeal to all you budding photoshop designers out there to have a go at some paint jobs/ designs / graphics and send em in to me at REDMAX HQ , we'll show the designs as we get 'em . You could even name the bike too !

USE THE TOP TWO WHITE IMAGES FOR YOUR DESIGNS PLEASE .

I'm thinking there should be a prize here too , so how about a years SIDEBURN Mag subscription for the best two ?

Catagories would be -

A . coolest paint job (as far out as you like , man!)

B . Most useable in the real world paint job (captain sensible , AJS logos etc )

You can design around the basic bike or add paint to the white bodywork , and consider we are looking at a cafe racers next !

You can do - pencil / pen / cad-cam / photoshop / bodypaint / charcoal / cave painting - anything !!!!!! just scan it and send it in as a jpeg to me at -

Any comments / helpfull advice gladly recieved , we are talking about a famous name here (AJS) and who knows where this could lead for them .

We have supplied Ramon Bellosta with a load of parts recently for his Buell project Tracker , and if his last project is anything to go by it's gonna be bloody fantastic !

They have some great roads and Tracks in Spain so i guess he'll have plenty of oppertunity to sort them in the sun !

Moto2 builders design flattrack concept based around a Buell donor

Creators of the dynamically attractive M210 Moto2 machine Bottpower have put their minds to the dirt oval and designed a trick flattrack concept.
The BOTT XR-1 concept design is based around a Buell powerplant, with the American bike also acting as a donor for the wheels, suspension, brakes and swingarm - the chassis will work around a central spine design.
The basis for building the bike is to work within the elements of flattrack aesthetics, based on the Harley XR750 racers that drift around the flattrack ovals in the American series. Bottpower are building the BOTT XR-1 on the ideas from Ramón Bellosta, who asked the team to build the chassis.
Rather than opting for a Harley XR1200, a bike that has been identified as the closest on the market, the BOTT XR-1's specifications will trounce the H-D bike. Where as the Harley weighs 250kgs and has 85bhp, the BOTT XR-1 will weigh 170kgs and pump out more than 100bhp and with the addition of much more aggressive geometries making it a more agile bike.

FIRST ACE CAFE MEET - SUCCESS !

Well , should'nt have worried - the whole day went like clockwork and i was rushed orf me feet all day !

We had the benifit of some great weather until mid afternoon , when the heavens opened encouraging us to slowly pack it all away .

Big thanks to all involved inc -

Oxford HD (Gavin etc) , Co-built (Ant , geoff and Kissinia) , Sideburn and Skooterfarm (Gary , Dave n Wilky) , Shorttrack UK (Boastie n boys) , Station 165 ( a whole herd of em !) and the Guys running the Evel Knievel Experience .

And where else outside of a GNC race in the states , could you see five XR750's together ?

Of course we could'nt of even been there without Mark and Linda Wilsmore who have bought the cafe back to life since 1994 (the first open day , still owned by Just tyres) .

As an aside i remember Mark and his pal Del (ugly bloke) telling us about his ideas for the ace one night on Chelsea Bridge after a Rock n roll do at a pub somewhere , we sat on the bridge chatting about it , having a cup of slosh and wondering if it could happen (musta been 1991-ish) . Well Mark you showed us it could and not only that - but you've made it viable too (as a buisness) and still going 17 years after we turned up for the Ace day in 1994 (with our Pyschomania helmets on , brit bikes leakin oil after the burn up there ) Well done mate , hope ur livin' the dream .

Escpecially nice was the way Mark ran around on the day genuinely excited about the flattrrack scene and what was going on , it think we did him proud !

As a side note , some of the guys from up Norf were suprised at the buzz on the day , having not been before - and well , that's what it's all about .

Dave skooterfarm spinnin the wax from his Dannsette added in no small way to the vibe .

Lastly thanks to anybody who rode in dry and rode home wet (but happy) .

I'm particularly like the (dutch) cartoon flattrack strip although i can't understand a word ! but that action and 70's syle is just the sorta thing i,d a been glued to as a kid (along with captain scarlet and anything with bi-planes shooting each other outta the skys !)And i'm a sucker for Nortons too !

We welcome anyone with a bike to show off or an interest in Flattrackers / streetrackers or Off-road racing in general to come over to the Ace Cafe on Sunday 27th Feb . 11am to 4pm ish .
We will have Racers and Streetbikes on display .
Redmax Speedshop stall for all the parts to make your bike into a Flattracker or replica (tanks/seats etc)
Shorttrack UK will be there with race bikes ans everything you need to go racing (there is a big race series in the UK)
Several Flattrack teams will be there showing off their race bikes and chatting to the public .
We have the Co-built guys (who make a Rotax race frame and accesories too)
We have Station 156 race team attending,
And the boys of the Skootafarm race team strutting their stuff !
Pete boast (well known racer from all disciplines) will have his Factory supported Suzuki there too .
Then there is the Ace itself for some great hot food and music to make the day go smoothly and inject some old school cool into the proceedings !

Nortons first ! cos that's how it is at my house . First up is Project silver fox Norton (named cos it's gonna be deep metal flake silver in the end ) and is a chop that's gonna be bobbered and bought slap bang up to date (1956 !). After that is a top secret race bike project (censored info).
It's a Norton 920 is all i can say .

Dunno what to say about the Z400 Kwack , good donor bike , don' know where we're going with that one (and it's at the back of the list too !)

It's nice for me to look back on what i'm doing now - compared to running a big Ducati dealership - this is creative heaven , so i'd like to say a big thanks to everyone we've met in the world of Flattrack racing , anyone who's stepped thru my door (including some European customers who maybe never will !) , Guys we work with (now friends ) inc Sideburn , Death spray , Great Frog , Shorttrack uk , Dutch brothers etc etc and my suppliers the world over .

She left the road sat mornin on black ice and a big ole tree stopped her progress .

She broke two vertebre in her back and it was'nt looking so good until the MRI scan results today , when we were told no operation will be nessesary - so that's good news right ? She's in Bartlet ward of Winchester Hospital right now and let's hope she can come home in some way for Christmas cos she loves Crimbo ! Yesterday they took her off of the Morphine and got the tube out of her stomach and suddenly the sparkle was back in those brown eyes...............

LIMP ON TO LINCOLN - LINK WRAY ON !

Next road trip please .....

Went up to Lincoln for the Fantastic Shorttrack presentation evening (nice one Boastie ) but as you know can't really make it that simple , so i decided to pick up a couple of XS650's and a shed load of spares on the way ! Stourbridge wherever that is ..... So hopped in the van at the crack of -well 9am really and gunned it over to the old boy selling them , he opened up his garage and sitting there was his pride and joy XS650 chop , Marilyn themed and bright yellow and chrome looked late seventies early eighties maybe ans still in top condition . Will stay that way too as the old boy was bent double with two steel plates in his back - and still smiling ! nice guy showed us his juke box and got his son to lift in some stuff i couldnt lift alone .

Then onto Lincoln , parked by the Cathederal and walked down the cobbled streets of the old town (which was nice ) until it was time to hit the party .

The shorttrack party was fab , plenty of food and drink consumed and lotsa prizes given out to the many skilled top riders there (you know who u are !)

Big thanks to Pete n Jackie again for my favorite racing series and all the guys involved in making Flattrack happen in the Uk - who thunk it eh ?

After that jumped back in the van an drove home ! arriving at 3.30 am Rach ZZZZZZZZZ all the way , van flat oot , me comatose - slept in till 1pm sunday .

Just wanna say to all the guys i race with - Its a pleasure boys , Cu y'all next year .

DELIVERY TO ITALY - YES SIR !

Yup , Mirco's Bobber has been finished for a while and he was chomping at the bit to get hold of it , so send it with some courier and have it delivered in any old state - OR drive down to Italy and deliver it pristine and talk him through the bike together , putting a face to a name and making some new friends on the way ? No contest , we're all about the ride not the destination here at REDMAX !
Also we had Oliver in the south of France (Marseille) wanting one of our new Twinshock GNC frames too , so put it all together and we have a 2400 MILE European trip in my Racing Red Vivaro Van !
So the route goes - avoid France all the way there (as they have been having fuel blockades all week !) and go Winchester- Dover - Tunnel - France - Belgium - Luxembourg - Switzerland - south of France - Italy . Deliver bobber , eat Italian get back on the road - round the Fabuolous coast past Monaco - Genova etc to Marseille . Deliver GNC Frame and parts then crack back across France hoping i won't need the 50 liters of Diesel i hid in the back of the Van !
The trip went well averaging 80/90 MPH on the autoroutes and not having any tolls all the way to Switzerland - who then charged me 40 euros just for entering the country ! Hotels are'nt cheap there either but i paid and hit the hay , up and out bright and early on thru france and some Tolls to Italy . Then Major Traffic problems on the A4 past Milano , there had been 5days of storm rain and the autoroute was closed , so i'm in a traffic queue coming off the road and thinking it's a crash - i hit "shortest route " on the sat nav , and we're off across country , but pretty soon i realise the flood damage and am diverted thru a very old town centre with 2 inches of clay on the roads and on grip - then i realise i'm following the traffic into some tight old streets and then i relise i'm gonna be stuck ! a right angle turn downhill into some ancient town buildings that the clio in front just makes ! Damn it , cars behind and wheelspin in reverse makes it a bit tense but i think we can slide the van sideways into the gap on the wet clay , and that's what we do ! Phew , close .
And so on till Padova , where i meet Mirco and show him the T140 Black Bobber , which he loves - Bellisimo he keeps saying - and i tell you after that trip , it's just what you need to hear !
He's a great guy with a nice collection of bikes too ! Then his Brother and girlfriend turn up - more exitement (and Bellisimo's !) nice folk ! and we whizz off for a meal at a local eatery traditional Italian food , which i like , then back in the van and head for a Hotel in Firenze(Florence) cos the A4's blocked still . Although i end up sleeping in the van as there's no parking anywhere in Florence that i can find (and i'm not leaving the van and contents alone ) then the satnav won't work in the tall ancient streets so i follow my nose outta town and hit the autoroute for 2 hrs and sleep in a garage forecourt , mmmm the sweet smell of Diesel !
Next morning up at the crack of a sparrows fart and down the wonderful coast thru all the tunnels to Marseille, where- due to a cock up in communication somewhere i don't meet Oliver at his garage and sit around for two hours trying to contact him on his mates number . Doh . Anyway the Police (la pig al police ) move me on twice and tell me there is no parking anywhere ! So reluctantly i get on the autoroute again flat oot and at 99 miles - the phone rings ! - and it's Oliver - wondering where i am ! brief explanations out of the way and i pull into a truck stop and he agrees to come and meet me , giving me a 2hr rest stop (good job i had Sideburn to read !).
Anyway Oliver turns up and is also a great guy - on my wavelength , and i regret not seeing his workshop immediately , but ce la vie - here we are . He loves the frame and is building a show bike (Steettracker) for a big show next year (hope he keeps me up to date with the pics).
From then on it's one big autoroute to the coast , hoping the fuel holds out ! Stopped in Riems for a lunch stop in a layby that was like a landscaped country garden and hopped on the tunnel train for the run back home . Sweet (tues day to Friday night all in ).
To tired to do the Flatrack practice on Saturday , but great trip meeting nice people makes it worth the cost ! Got some nice pics outta the van window too !
Lows -
Jams , Clay , floods , waiting , seeing 147 miles to next exit on satnav etc .
Highs -
smiling faces , Bellisimo , new friends , great views , sense of achievement , not breaking down !

REDMAX STAND AT SHOW .

Nice , but not as nice as Sideburns cos Dave (from skootafarm racing ) built them a great stand with walls and bike boxes etc , then Dave DJ'd both days with some great 60's sounds from his extensive single collection ! shoulda won best stand with Jasons Triumph and the Sideburn FT on display too .

Our stand was enhanced when Dave popped over and hung our banner overhead - is there no end to this guy's skill , he's got an eye for style - that's for sure .Nice to catch up with Gary and Ben too , bet they sold some stuff !

Anyway , we met loadsa nice guys out there and sold a few bits and generally got the Flattrackin' message out the up North .

Job done .

Thanks to my dad who came for the weekend to help out , and had a good time too .

Ok , i see a lotta bikes (which is good ) but i see alotta crap ones too .

Anyway this week i saw a lotta bikes - you decide which type .

My Mate Ramps is a fabricator and sidecar pilot (read nuts) he likes a few things , but one thing he's kept a long time is his Z1000 injection thingy see here at top and it's a bit special , so his mate got one too , now they are rare and here's two .

Next up a Rickman Mettise framed Sportster , s'posed to be a flattracker but does'nt quite get away with it ? Still a nice bike - and a lot lighter than a harley is normally (seen at steve piper motorcycles).

Next up is that nice IronHead Bobber outside the Hungry Skulls do in London , nice old alloy scrambles tank and lots of nice detail stuff on there too !

HUNGRY SCULLS . DSC KNEES UP.

Well given half the chance i bugger off up to London for the evening , and what better excuse than a personal invite from Londons funkiest painter , Dave Death-Spray ? His Hungry Sculls do was a mix up of Moody photos by Rieno of "The Great Frog " fame (of a 4am bike ride thru London streets ) and a bike meet and some Great From Jewelry on display !

I don't wear Jewlery but 10-15 years ago bought a Skull ring from the great frog (a death skull in a WW2 pilots helmet) and wore it to all the Dress doo's i went to , until one day - it dissapeared . Luckily they still make it ....Oh Reino ....

Drinkies from two massive ice buckets - and all the faces were there . Nice bikes out side included Dia Jobou's SR500 tracker , several Harley bobbers , Daves 900ss and his Boner bike in new blue/grey bones - nice ! Rach found a coffin to sleep in downstairs (see pic) and i bumped into a loada nice guys (u know who u are !)

Usual shit traffic in the center in town and had to take my V8 Jag - so £50 of fuel gulped and NCP's FUKCING RIDICULOUS £25 parking fee. Some guy paid that for his 2 hrs so i s'pose my just under 4 hrs was lucky as god know what it might have been over 4 hrs ?

Went down Carnaby street just to remind myself why i don't go there anymore , soulless place it is now , but i used to go early 80's and it was THE place to abuse Mods and kick over scooters .

Then off to eat as is the norm , found a chinese in chinatown (go figure !) pretty crap meal , UNTIL we got to the sizzling beef-steak in honey and pepper sauce - now that was GOOD !

Off home , Rach asleep instantly - so i chase V8 Audis down the A316 and hit 150 on the M3 (again) and once more do the Bridge jump on the A33 just before home , waking Rach just in time 4 bed .

Right , bone fixed with some kind of ball of calcium growth , arm works with restricted movement but don't hurt - so lets go to Le-mans for a two day track day and see if it don't fall apart !

Took the old Silver Duke down in the van , have'nt done a track day since last year and the braking forces are pretty high - especially when you can see 150-odd at the end of the straight !

Need'nt have worried as it was Gary Sideburn that did all the falling orf , in a mega - go out every race and crash spree ...... win it or bin it eh Gaz ? Gotta admire that , and he took it all in good humour too .

A good meeting for the Skootafarm boyz in all , jon Lee showing us all the way (only Jacob beating him ) then Dave Arnold going well all day and getting a good points haul , Wilky holeshotting the Thunderbike B race (after i chose the outside line and lost !) and leading it start to finish with me coming second and Gary and Jason not far behind .

Adventure Riders to the hilt back in the 1950s. Sunday rides were the thing for these guys. Introducing the riders here after filling up for gas somewhere near Fort Collins, CO, from left to right:

Notice the front knobby!The 1950 Harley 74 was king.Here's the 'usual group' again taking a morning break on a nice Sunday ride.One Sunday ride took 'em to the top of Mount Evans , elevation 14,264. This was back in the day before it was paved all the way to the top. It was, however, paved here if it hadn't been for the snow, and remember the FOOT CLUTCH!!! Yikes!Yet another 1952 Sunday ride ventured up Arapahoe Pass - it's near Eldora , Colorado .They headed out from Wheat Ridge which is a stone's throw from Golden, CO. They headed to Boulder , CO and followed the nice, twisty and scenic Boulder Canyon to Nederland . From there they headed through the town of Eldora and up Arapahoe pass.Now some things never change. There's always that one person in the group that either insists that they absolutely positively know where to go, or that its "not that bad". In this case, the group ended up venturing down this:Turned out that this the wrong way. The Harley guys actually let the English bike riders be guinea pigs on this part of the ride. Must've been one of those hot-headed British riding know-it-alls that suggested it in the first place...After some back tracking and de-mudding operations, they finally found the right trail and made it to the top at 11905 feet elevation. Nice day!I also think these guys could've invented the "No Fear" logo. I have fear when it associates a 750 lb hard tail with a stream crossing on a trail. These guys really deserve some respect for being able to pull this off. Or they deserve to be taken away in straight jackets, I'm not really sure.Not that they didn't dab once or twice. OK, maybe they dabbed about 100 times, but they still made it across. Now it's time to take a break and dry out.A portrait of Warren Weber 1951, just before the start of a nice ride. Notice the cool stylish apparel. Helmet? I don't need no stinking helmet! Of course, this was pre-head injury days....These guys also had a lot of fun just playin around. Imagine getting a couple feet (OR MORE!) of air on a 750 HARD-TAIL Harley! This makes the GS-jumpers look like whimps, with your fancy rear suspension and all.But the most insane member of the group in the area of piloting a Harley 74(7) through the air was a fellow named Kenny Erie. If Kenny was alive today and about 50 years younger, Im sure hed be one of the top names in freestyle!These guys weren't shy of riding on a bit of snow, either. Here's Mike Sadusky on his 50 Harley. Mike had long legs and used to drape his legs over the handle bars to stretch on those long road trips. Who needs hiway pegs?Youd think these guys would know when to stop. Apparently notGood thing Mike has those long legs...These were taken up by Mt Thorodin. Wanna park, but you're too lazy to put the side stand down? Just cram it in a snow bank and leave it. Mike and Kenny are in the process of parking.These guys were never short of play time. Once again, Mike's extra long legs save the day. Well, almost.And again...Youre not a real rider unless you can power slide .

Well that means i can ride a bike again - not fast , not hard - just ride !

Took one of our Connies outta the garage , got her mot'd and went for a 3hr trundle on sat .

Went nowhere in particular out to the New Forest and round a few back roads , and i loved it !

What i did'nt like is being burnt off by Rach on the Trumpet the Strumpet .

Now this Connie (Royal Enfield Constellation 700 cc twin 1963 Bathtub S/C version )ain't all that cos normally my Connie would kick a Bonnies Ass big time , but those letters S/C mean sidecar anchor and she came with soft cams and a single concentric carb - which means slower than your average bear boo-boo ! Actually it means 75-80 which is ok in our stupid overcrowded road system , but not so hot out on a long straight with yer chick slowin down then speedin up before you can catch her , and laughin atcha at the same time . Time for some dangerous overtakin methinks - that'll leave her lonesome . Nah - she's to quick for me , so i took her into the Harley shop on the way back for a test ride ! NOW THAT'LL SLOW HER DOWN .

Anyway job done - she loved the Iron Sporty she tried out and wants one - only we have to build it like a cafe-racer Vincent style a'la Hogbitz (see pic) - she know's what she want's that gurl .

Ok - so normally i'm the ugly one when we're out but since i got my new Bell Stunt lid i've been feeling roight purdy , so i tried it out on the Connie and it's great , but ruins my Quiff -which is wierd cos ask any body i know - i can race all day and still have some Quiff left ! So to sum up best looking lid i've ever had but can't take it orf cos i'll have a centre parting !

Evel stripe , pearl cream glitterflake finish and a ton of pin striping with a nice interior - yep it's one nice lid , worth the wait , as i ordered it in Daytona in March as they ain't coming over here ever cos they ain't safe for english melons (?).

Oh yea my arm works now but all my muscles have dissapeared due to wastage so i goes to the Doc - When do i start my physio then Doc ?

You don't get any says he - WTF ! Did'nt get any Kin plating on my broken bone , paid for my own Laser treatment ! Now no Kin physio . WTF am i paying national insurance for ?

So i punched the cunt , but he did'nt feel anything - cos i'm so fuckin weak ! Ho ho ;-)

Nice to end on a rant combined with a (poor) joke eh .

Oh yea after i've had 7 weeks with no earnings the Doc would'nt sign my insurance form unless i paid £25 ! took 3 minutes to do ......... if only i could swing a bit harder .

Lastly , that's my dad with the Connie , he had one new in 1959 - so i got one in 1983 (which i still have !) cos he rated it so much , and i loved it . He had to sell it to get a car (105e Anglebox estate) when i was born , so when he wanted to ride again in 07 i bought him this to ride - since then he's nicked my Thruxton full time - so i've got this one back , and it's the only bike i have without clip on bars , so out it's come . For a relaxing ride or two . niiiice .

Well i'm getting laser and magnet therapy here in Ipswich and on the way home it feels like i've moved on a couple of weeks , so that was worth the £200 it cost inc a shoulder brace !

Dig those laser proof specs ! (very DEVO)

Won't be at the Stoke race obviously , bummer .

Rach took me down to devon to have a rest at the weekend and we took in a classic cars show and got a vintage tram ride down into Seaton thru the marshes and bird sanctuaries , this pic of the electric throttle is the only one of interest , i like to call it the e-motionovulator - but it's probably called the accelerator .

Other pic is of my Norton , the Reverend at work as before i mashed myself i was enjoying riding it to work , halving the travel time and raisin the pulse a tad too !

Last pic is TRIUMPH TR25W in the wokshop for a makeover , and i think this mocked up look is where we are heading . We have blacked out the wheels , done a classic MX job on the mudgaurds and numberboards , added a Champion tank and a Bratstyle seat then a Sparto rear lamp . Like how it's looking now .

SUPPOSED TO BE OFF FOR 6-8 WEEKS BUT I'M JUST WORKING AROUND IT REALLY .

HONDA CAFE PROJECT .

We have had a great project in the workshop for a while , we started with a standard 70's Honda 550 four and stripped her down , cut and shut the sub frame , moved all the electrics around to clear the air box area out , added tank seat /pipe kit from Benjies in the States and some great alloy rims and modern rubber and presto !

60's Honda cool .

Also in the mix were a front brake kit and ace bars , redesigned dash , shortened mudgaurd and alloy bellmouths (which put the jetting well out ).

Next maybe is paint as the frame needs sorting and the colour on the body work (although i'm kinda liking the retro matt green primer look !

So she's all together and looking great , took these pics out on test ride - my route goes past AJS on the back roads ! Whenever you stop on this bike people appear from nowhere to have a look (and take a pic !) . We're really pleased with her now and we just need to get a bit nearer on the jetting and we are finished . Oh and a smaller number plate !

It's stuff like this that keeps my job interesting although god knows how many hours have really gone into it to get it into this shape !

ITALIAN STALLIONS ROCK THE BMF !

Sounds like a rock band , but it was just Marco and Jacob going at it , what a great race that was .

Had some interesting rides on an ever-changing track surface on saturday (will they ever get it right there?) going from wetter than wet to dustier than arizona , in fact four races with four different lines to amuse us ! Still the fast boys were still faster than us and we were treated to some great racing from behind or on the sidelines .

There were some suprise winners too , well done boys - you know who you are !

And Ade collins jus made it look so easy on his HM plant honda .

Us Skootafarm boys were pluggin away at it , with John and gary at the sharp end and the rest of us eatin some dust - and enjoying every minute of it !

I had little traction but lots of fun , lost my oil bung (only harley would think a push in oil cap will work flat out !) on the last lap of one race and it looked like i'd been shot down - by the smoke trail ! Got a quad bike lift round in front of the grading tractor and luckily found it .Phew.

Nice to see Lez back out on his Big Yam twin for the first time since his Injury and Wayne out on his CCM and going well , as he does .

ARE YOUR NAILS UP TO IT ?

Sideburn girl blew out her Strumpet's base gasket on the way back from Jack's Cafe last year ! and has been on at me to sort it since , but she could,nt wait and my saturday customers were amazed to see her strip the Bonnie down in front of thier eyes and put it back together in time for tea n biscuits !

The whole bike and her legs were covered in oil as we'd been doing the ton for some time on the A34 when it blew , so it was quite a clean up operation too !

We noted that the cams and followers were all in good nick and the bores ok too although a little glased up (she soon sorted that out) and whilst she was in there she stripped the carbs out and had a clean up .

Sideburn girl mentioned she had wanted to see if her new Bio-sculpture gel nails were up to the job - i think this proves that point at least !

Darling - my bikes leaking now too , can you have a looksee after you've done tea ? "Get lost Steve ! Do it yourself ".

All American Twins Flattrack Series ! A story .

Last week as I was certain the bike I got from Mule motorcycles in California for the all American twins cup wouldn’t make it in time because of the volcano eruption, I got a call from UPS saying that there would actually be some people working on Friday (Queens day, our national holiday), so if the bike would arrive on Thursday I could possibly still pick it up in time for the weekend. (my brother actually called them stating I was the star rider and that it was absolutely imperative I could race that weekend!) But then on Thursday afternoon I got a call that the bike wasn’t on the flight that day, but that there was another flight on Friday! The bike did get on that flight and landed in Amsterdam in the afternoon. Everybody at UPS and even customs new about this bike and they rushed it through customs and at 11:15 PM I got the call I that could go to the airport to pick it up. I received the massive crate a little after midnight. A UPS truck driver was kind enough to help me get the bike out of the crate and in to my van.
So Saturday morning 1AM I finally set off for Germany with the bike! I rushed 700 km straight through the night and arrived at the hotel where the other riders were staying a little before 7 AM. I had some breakfast and then we went to the track to assemble the bike in time for tech inspection. The bike fired up first try! I took it super easy during practice, but I immediately felt very comfortable riding it. The heats went well and I got faster throughout the day, actually winning the final! This made me finish second for the day, because of the small rider field all heats score points with the final counting double. Another rider drove my van to the race venue for Sunday as I got to close my eyes for the first time in 36 hours.
Better rested for the Sunday race I continued my progress with a couple of second places in the heat races and again winning the final, this time it was enough for the overall win! So second and first place on a bike that was still in LA on Friday morning!
And what a bike! It is absolutely beautiful and handles great, as I said earlier, I really didn’t expect to feel so comfortable on it so soon. The battery wasn’t charging, I’ll have a look to see what’s going on there. But all together an absolutely gorgeous race bike! I’m looking forward to more fun!

FREEZING FLORIDA FARCICAL FLATTRACK VACATION !

Actually we had a good coupla weeks away , but if you look at the facts ....... it don't look good !

BAD STUFF.

Plane arrived late and by the time we were at the hotel there was no hope of making our first race at Ocala (which was where the big twins were running .....

Next day , evening race at Volousia - so we got there at lunch just in case and to see a bit off practice ..... nowt going on ! rained the night before so called it off at 9am in sun and when we got there it was bone dry, but empty !

Next day over to Daytona to the new dirttrack course to watch Boastie Qualify , to be told he'd highsided out - poss cracked ribs etc . DOH .

Sat in the stands that night in biting wind watchin the frost come outta our mouths and wishing it would end ... which it did ... at about 11 or so ! only the AMA rug and sweatshirts we bought saved us from death . half the spectators went home .

Did 3 autojumbles in one day cos they were full of chrome shit for Baggers (touring Harleys).

Picked up a Ducati from Ducati Daytona (thanks guys) and realised it had a rear seat the size of a postage stamp , Rach not impressed . After 5 mins of riding in Florida , i was not impressed ! you're not allowed to filter thru the traffic !!! Wot !!!! F.K.N HELL . might as well have a harley then ! $%%^$%&&$ bollox , ruins riding that does , so i ignored it and rode up the middle and kicked the traffic outta the way like u should . They don't like it up em .

Went down Main st and parked it up amongst the hogs , locked our helmets on ... and left the keys in the seat ! came back n they were gone . FERC IT. Ran around a bit like a headless chicken , then saw the card in the ignition recess , read it and it was from the police - meet em at the corner of main and olive , nice ! they had the keys but i had to explain how an english guy in florida had a Ducati on California plates ... one lecture later i had em back !

Then i rode it 300 miles to Miami - on a dead straight road , kin torture . Here Miami Ducati have it back ! (great shop that one !) so if you wanna ride in the USA , go to California where u can filter !

Down in Miami we head out to the Keys (key largo) to Gilberts resort , which is ok till you get inside a room then it sucks big time being very run down for top money too ! that nite Rach says she want's to go home.... so i book us out and find another much nicer place for less money ... and it catches fire ! So at 3am we pack our car and move across the road as Floridas best fight the fire , by 7am we can move back in as only the resturant burnt down !

Still this week is all about Rach on the beach .... except there are no real beaches on the Keys ! yes those picture perfect beaches are all concrete covered in sand ( not so comfy!) Rach not impressed again , so it's off to Miami beach which as you all know is miles of real sand ... so we're driving up and down looking for a space or car park - and 3hrs later we still are ! A little thing called spring break has spoiled our fun , thousands of college kids got there first ! it was chocka block . so we went home . Rach . Tears .

GOOD STUFF .

No hire car for us , so they upgraded us to a Chevy MPV , leather n nice .

Volousia was a real nice sleepy town to visit , no tourism nice diner etc - good day spent exploring round the lakes there .

The racing at Daytona speedbowl was great watched the classics and twins races from the infield and saw Springer kick ass on the XR750 TT race bike , then got to meet him in the pits ! the pits were great (see our pics). We got invited by Ducati to watch the 200 race with them in Ducati hospitality which was great and we met some nice guys , who explained about filtering in the traffic , later we waved to them as we shot past up the middle of the traffic on our streetfighter - oh how we laughed !

At the track Boastie was in good spirits considering the long trip for nowt ! and Jan and Tom were buzzing around like they were on speed with excitement ! and the racing was great , tooth n nail stuff . Chriss Carr came over n said hi , after hearing the english voices ! He was looking good in the heats but they kicked his ass in the final , the smooth track not suiting many there.

A good facility though without a doubt and you've got to wonder how many new tracks are being built over there in the last ten years ?

We went to the bike auctions at Stetson university and there was a good bike show too , All classics , had to stop myself coming back with the Astro in the pics !

Found a XR chaincase for $20 in the swapmeet too !!.

We did 1000 miles in the hire chevy which was nice as it was new (200miles old!) and gas was nowt per liter .

We had a great day out at the Kennedy space center and saw the Shuttle out a few days before it's launch .

We went up a very tall light house and took out a boat for the day amongst the Mangrove swamps ! and saw a Man-o-war in the water - spooky but very delicate .

By the time we got to Miami the sun was properly with us , and when the hotel was crap the lady on the next table turned out to be the president of the Chamber of Commerce and she found us a much better one for $40 less per night ! Nice .

The Resurant that burnt down was well nice and we had a nice meal in there the night before !

We did some Rach stuff up n down the Keys the highlights of which were ... a Airboat ride across the everglades in a crocodile reserve , a dolphin show (and sealions , parrots etc ) Alligator wrestling ! and a hundred mile road trip across the Keys to Key west , only 70 miles from Cuba !

FIRST SHORTTRACK RACE OF YEAR -KINGS LYNNE.

What a fab race meeting that was ! All the Scooter farm boys made the Final (except Jason of course - rekon he does it on purpose!) with Jon and Gary doing great and me n Dave battling it out till the end (dave getting me up the inside at the end , oh-er missus).

I wanna say right now I HAD A SECOND PLACE !!!!! one better than my previous best on the old girl (1977 vintage) and if i'da got traction orf the line maybe Stevie Coles would'nt have slipped thru into turn one ...... Nah - he'd a got me anyway . That boy flies , although i managed to hang onto him till the flag , he was always a bike length ahead . Nice to see his wife in the pits chattin to sideburn girl . Spotted Gary's wife to0 and the Lovely Louise , thanks for coming girls !

Had Paul Baleta in the shop before the weekend trying on some tanks/seats on his new thunderbike a KTM Duke and he was at the track giving it the beans everywhere , you should take a look at his Speed Therapy Blog , makes good reading , other bloggers present were Anthony Brown (DBA blog ) and of Course Gary Inman (Sideburn as if u did'nt know ) all these blogs are on my favorites here !

Another anomaly at this meeting were all the new leathers , my own were based on Triumph's own Gene Romero Jacket and Matching Arai lid with Metro racing suede gloves (very 70's beige!) then Jason had a lovely quality new skoota farm set , which he promptly covered up with a cow suit ! (see pics) that guy cracks me up ! Anthony Brown also sported a new set , finally escaping from his pizza/puke kevlar set , which i believe he's gonna make Geoff wear at his first race , our next round the BMF show !

Oh yea , other people were there racing and i believe it was the biggest turn out ever ! Thanks guys for making the effort . But if we're talking effort , well what about the Italians ? it's a fair old treck i'd say from anywhere in Italy to Kings-Lynne without bringing a bike and racing it , but that's what the Zaeta boys did Pauolo and Marco(Belli) bought along the Mk2 bike with the TM engine (much more suitable for a Italian bike than a Honda motor) and had a good go with it , although maybe the Suprmoto spec engine needs a bit of refining as they ran in the top 4 but , had no test time with it ! Great effort guys . Next Jacobo Monti was there to (from Italy)with his creature from the deep ! well modified Honda 450 , but it refused to go from the start and he borrowed a CRF to race from someone else (nice one whoever that was !) imagine coming all that way and have it not start . Bummer .

I tell you all the racing was great and the atmosphere in the pits was fantastic , nice to see some familiar faces appear and say hello (you know who you are ) i always enjoy showing the bike to interested spectators , particularly when i'm going well out there !

DEATHLY DAVE'S DESIGNER DOO -DELIGHTFULL !

Went up the smoke last night to Death Spray Custom's art show in the Exposure art gallery . And it was a great night out with some stunning pieces on display - including my old race bike with a fab paint job by the master himself (Dave) and with the bike in pride of place in the window , i was glowing with pride ! It's always nice to catch up with friends too and i had Sideburn girl (Rach) along for the ride so she was able to meet a few people to . Had i enough spare cash i could have bought a matching Axe and Fixie push bike , to go with my 1026cc Ducati - but i had my eye firly one the set of four DSC number ones that would have looked great in my shop on the wall ! Many thanks to Dave for a great evening and a great paintjob .

After it was all over we heade out for food with Anthony (co-built) and his mate Oz , and without a word of a lie had the best Thai meal ever , nice resteraunt , good service and fantastic food .

What a way to end the night !

PERRIS FUELLERS BIG DAY OUT .

Nah - it's not that film from the 80's (good tho it may be ...)

This is all about the WILD WIGAN WEEKEND we just had .

Actually my weekend started on Thursday , and it goes something like this -

Thursday 5pm - jump in car drive up the Smoke to Camden to see the Rev Horton Heat at the Electric Ballroom - get home 2am ! (150 miles trip).

Friday Mornin , load all the gear and 1x XR750 flattracker in the van , Lunchtime drive to Wigan (225 miles ), getting stuck in some crap traffic on way (5hr drive !) For the Stags/Sideburn no5 launch party , set up the bike on stage for the Burlesque girl to crawl over , sit back n watch the show ! Ace . The band really rocked (dave Scootafarm Murdo on base) and the atmosphere was fab , with people from all over attending , met some great guys there . Davida put up part of their picture gallery , and Sideburn were launching mag no 5 on the world (gary was the first on the dance floor too !) , burlesque girls were selling the raffle tickets for a Davida helmet , and i'm sure i saw a Donkey get cut in two on the stage !Get back to Dave's gone 3am !

Saturday . Rise @ 9am get down to the Yankee diner for some grits with the boys , then onto the WIGAN SHORTY TRACK opening event at an undisclosed address , which was fab - we even had some races on the smaller bikes !(great job on the track guys ) Then back to unload the Stags gear outta the van into the lock-up , off for Chips n Gravy at the Drive- by shooting chippy , back to change then off to Liverpool to the Go Go Cage for two bands (Doctor Combover and the Jim Jones Revue ) Very happening evening , Back to Dave's for @ 3am !

Sunday , up at 8am , drive 3 or so hours down to Norfolk arena (189miles) for the Shorttrack UK first official practice of the year - and it was good to be back on track ! Bit worried about the track grip and my riding at first , then Boastie says they've put down Scunthorpe dirt - but it all came good when they watered it and once again Kings-lynn was like clay . Superb ! then pack it all up n jump in the van , drive (200 miles)back to Winchester for 10pm , just in time for a hug from Sideburn Girl n jump into bed for a very long coma-like sleep !

Total mileage -@800. (saw fuel @1.27 liter! fookin rip off .)

Rest needed to recover - 1 month .

Band total 3.

Bikes ridden 4 .

Burlesque girls gurned over 3.

Hours of sleep - not enough.

Hours of driving - too many .

I should know better at my age ! (21)

Then on Saturday afternoon it's the Grand Opening of the Skooter Farm / Sideburn practice track, at an undisclosed location near the team. We've often said here at STUK, if you're not getting enough riding in that you should build your own practice track and that's exactly what Skooter Farm and Sideburn have done. UInfortunately, it does all have to kept low key so can't be open to allcomers, just invited guests of the team (get in touch with Dave or Gary if you think they should've invited you). No 1 .Right now Boastie and Tim Greig are out at Daytona trying to get in the Main Race , and i'm on a plane tomorow to support them . So should everybody .

Boastie says - Tim Greig and Pete Boast fly out to the States tomorrow to race in the Daytona speed week.Tim is competing in the Winter Amateur National Championship held at the New track at Daytona, over 3 days to be held on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Pete is riding in the Pro Series, with his first meeting on Saturday evening at the 1/2 mile banked oval at Savanah, Georgia, then back down to Daytona for the Pro All stars meeting at Daytona on Tuesday. They will be followed by the two Grand National Championship rounds on the Wednesday and Thursday.We will keep you up dated how our riders do and also hope that the Shorttrack UK members who are going out to spectate will have a great time and bring us some of that good weather back!

SKID LIDZ , BRAIN BUCKETS AND BONE DOMES !

Yep it's all about Helmets !

Sometimes i'd rather not wear one - but i always do .

I went up the smoke the other day and met up with Dave (death spray) and popped into see his mate Johnny - a real cool character , we could have talked for a year - and i could have spent a year looking round his Mews house garage , so full as it was of cool bikes and stuff .

Now it's that stuff i'm talking about today , cos in this garage was a shelf and about 30 lids on it , reminding me of just about every one i know , cos you have bikes , parts , gear and then lids .

Helmets go out of Fashion like everything , but then they come back in again as classics or something that reminds you of a time (wether you were there or not !)

Triggering this off was the realisation that my dad has thrown out about 4 of my old lids that were in his way aparently in his attic in a box in the corner minding their own buisness !

One of those lids i particularly wanted , a Bell mk1 full face i'd had since i was 16 ! painted to match my Enfield Connie 700 (which i still have ), so slightly pissed off .

Anyway here's a few of mine kicking around the house at the mo......

Firstly a Phil read 70's helmet bought recently from a well known GP commentator and Author. this has been signed by mr Read himself and is actually part of a range Phil launched and had made for himself (so not a Kangol then !) . i liked the colours and it was a steal !

Next up on the shelf a Wes Cooley Mk 1 Arias , found at autojumble for £25 after much haggling and pretending i did'nt know who the popular yankee GS1000 superbike rider was !

Next to that a crappy metalflake 70's lid of italian extraction , that always makes me grin as the chin bar is an add on that would fly off if you sneezed !

Then one of my best lids , a Everoak racemaster from the early 60's . purloined from and old boy in my village when i was a pup it was gloss silver with black leather and red silk interior and cork/netting for protection. i used this as my no 1 lid up to 94 when i got a Davida pudding basin to use instead , when i painted this one satin black and added a bubble visor and decals a la PHYSCOMANIA (best brit biker flick ever !) and went to the opening of the ace cafe !(we are on the ace day video wearing them !

Next up my Bell moto-111 , not much to say bout it - classic MX lid , had it since new (spot the AJS and Captain scarlet stickets !) fab looking lid tho . Spot the 8-track collection behind !

Lastly a Arias Quantum i had kicking around waiting to be used , so i painted it up to match my Romero style jacket (seen behind ) in 70's biege and mettalic red n blue stripes , with my race number 59 on the sides . OLD SCHOOL or what , now i'm gonna look cool on the grid with this set up and my Metro -racing gloves i just got !

As i said most people i know have a little collection of lids , hope you enjoyed a few of mine !

BEST SHOW ! THE OFF ROAD AND RACING SHOW TELFORD

That's right , BEST show i've been to for a long time (even if it was in Telford!).

Me n Boastie hauled our cookies over to the Off road and Racing show for two days this weekend , with Sideburn girl for support - and sent up the SHORTTRACK UK and REDMAX stands for action . And boy did we get some ! The interest was non-stop in racing and building Flattrackers , probably due to the fact most twin-shock / pre 75 scramblers are ideal for flattrackin' or ripe for conversion . And these are hardened race boys lookin' for more sport .

Boastie nearly lost his voice talkin to punters non-stop ! we sold a shed load of stuff of the stand and gave out 400 cards and tons of shorttrack fixture lists , had to fight people off of the co-built framer we took along and wipe the drribble off the sexy stainless pipe of theirs we took along ! Think co-built's phone is gonna be ringing away this week (stand by Anthony!) We also had to fight Guto and his dad off of it (cos they knew it was their chassias we had taken to show !).

So we had a REDMAX , SHORTTRACK UK ,CO_BUILT , SIDEBURN stand at a classic scrambles show , and got our best result yet from a show ! Analyise that boys .

For me tho , i was in heaven . Put me within a mile of a 70's CCM and i can't think straight , i just want it - and there was about 10/15 or so nice examples , not to mention HL500 , Cheneys , Rickmans , Maicos , Jawas , Fantics , Bultacos etc etc etc . KIN FAB .

3 massive halls and autojumble outside and in , i bought a few things too - later we had to fight Boastie off of a real nice '83 KX 125 going for £950 as he explained that it was his dream bike back then ! Even after the OK from Jackie , he still resisted the temptaition , despite going back 150 times to "have a look !" bet he's regretting it right now . I'd have had to stump up around 5K for a half decent CCM 580 , so i did'nt .(cos that's good Trackmaster money !)

All in all the show gave me a smile i could'nt get rid of , and i can't remember that from a show since the Ally Pally road n race show first started years ago !

We had a good hotel for £75 for two nights , and got to eat out at a couple of good places too ! Rach got to listen to me n Boastie swap bike stories and in return she told us what driving a HGV was all about !¬

CHARLEY GOES REDMAX MAD !

All round nice guy and motorcycle enthusiast Charley Boorman gave me a ring the other day - and as usual i was'nt paying too much attention (think i was off to the loo !), but had a bit of a chat , put the phone down and said to Rach "think that guy is on TV or something - did'nt get his name " !! Anyway he phones back and Rach has a nice chat to him and puts me right about who it was (she's a big fan ) - so he phones back and it seems he likes the REDMAX web site and has got the Flattrack bug big time !(quite rightly ).

So Charley is building a W650 Streetracker and his mate has a SR500 project too , and he'd like some parts to help the build progress ! CAN DO ! (cos that's the kind of guy i am ).

He purchased a Trackmaster Tank , a Knight seat and pad , a pair of oval K&Ns and some white number boards - sounds like it's gonna be a good build ! Was going to post it all up as the Tank was still in the States , when as if by magic one appeared - so i gave him a ring and offered to take em up to him in London (in the hope of seeing some cool bikes) and meet the man so often in my Telly !

And he lived up to my expectations as a cool guy with plenty in common to a Rev head like me ! In fact we chatted away until we both realised the Traffic was closing in around us and we had to make a move before the usual gridlock set in !

Chat included talk of a Flattrack ride on a Co-built bike and Joining Shorttrack UK for a race even ! i'm gonna send the info pack on to him asap .

Charley really is a nice , down to earth guy and knows the bike world as well as anyone i know .

Bet he's got the grinder out on that Kwack right now - keeping the nieghbours awake !

If he's lucky i won't put the phone message he left me out on general release ! (mum liked it !)

VIRGIL HILTS AND JUMBLE BOOTY !

I know that sounds like a Jamaican lap dance or something , but it's just the proceeds of a successfull days Autojumbling at the Kempton park jumble today !

Me n my dad (tony) jumped in the van and whizzed up the M3 to London and by the time we got there - the sun was out ! Still bitterly cold tho .

Dad was looking for some Enfield forks for his Connie 700 project and i was out for some T140 forks for my bobber project !

5 mins in and i'd bought forks and wheel for the bobber , tools , grinding discs , a first edition of Performance bike mag and a 1983 Super bike with patch still on the cover ! And some Transatlantic match race programmes , All for a Tenner ! - not really , the two bacon rolls n tea cost about that ! (Dads still crying - more than a pound? is his motto !)

We bid on a complete Enfield to steal the parts off , but to no avail -so we still need Connie forks (or 50's bullet ).

Then as i rounded the corner i thought i saw Steve Mc Queen jump off his Great Escape bike and run off with a bevvy of germans giving chase on Triumph looking sidecars ! So i ran over to the stall and asked if it was for sale and was told to my suprise that i could buy it if i paid cash before he got back !

Well , what a nice man and as the price was OK (considering it was in the film.....)i got my cash out and a hasty deal was done - Cushty !

However on the way home i noticed the log book does'nt say S McQueen at all !!!! no it says some welsh name from Llandrindod Wells , and comes with stories of support riding for the Welsh two day enduro by an ex-sidecar rider ! Do you know what , i'm beginning to think this bike was'nt even made by 1945 !

DIRT TRACK AT DAYTONA , 2010

We are going to Daytona speed week this year ! (me n Sideburn girl).

These pics are from the Rockers Reunion at reading last week ! Why those pic ? well if you get to daytona - you'll be wanting to know what we look like to buy us a drink ! ( Me in red shirt , Rach in Black !)Of course i will be wearing Raybans too !

SEX,BIKES AND ROCK N ROLL !

Had a great night out in London town last night !

Went to the launch of Mark Ely's DAI JOBOU Calender (which features naked ladies jumping around !) in Shoreditch .

Dropped off both his SR 500 street trackers i've been giving a makeover to , one went in the window of his shop PRESENT on shoreditch high st and the other in the NEU art gallery just round the corner where they were launching the Calender . Both bikes went down really well so both me and Mark were happy with that .

THe launch also was the first gig for a band Mark is managing called PLAYBAND and they really rock hard - so i liked em (i'm partial to girl rock singers anyway and this one hit the spot !) , she looked stunning in a jumpsuit that Mark had designed .

There was a big turnout of people and i ment up with a few old friends , and some new ones as well !

There were a few bikes outside inc Dave Deathspray's XS Streetracker and a few Brit's i liked too inc a couple of BSA A65's - nice to see em out !

Later hooked up with sideburn's Ben and a few others to go get food - in an old London

routemaster bus , called Rootmaster because as i found out when i got inside , it's a Vegan resturant . DOH . Gave it a go , but came out just as hungry as i went in . In fact the main event was getting driven there in a Brand new Nissan Skyline R by a Cute Japanese girl , Ben videoed the whole drive cos inside the (very cramped) cabin it was like a scene from Tron , or the space shuttle at least - an experience for sure but not my cuppa charlie .The little Fiat in the bus pic was also running with us . Chalk and cheese .

Any way the food looked great and the company was great , indeed a great night out in the name of work !

BOASTIE'S BALL !

And what a ball it was ! Sold out with people packed up to the rafters , some were turned away unfortunatly cos it went over capacity .Great venue for a slickly run event and the rain can't touch it - ace .

But it was a great success with close , fast racing , good grip and plenty of elbow in the face action !

The result was a (suprise) run away win from Edward Kennet , who looked completely in controll start to finish .

Closely followed by Ade Collins and Glynn Pocklington .

Steve Plater and Gary Johnston showed well from the road racers and marco was always up there with Rusty and Jacopo, but for me Glynn must be the man most pleased with his day - making the final and coming out Third ! Nice one dude .

I'll post the results when they're released for you all - in the meantime check out the pics (once again from the camera of sideburn girl !) There's a VIDEO on here too !

The boys have been out for a practice and this is what they say -

Some of the star riders for the Bonanza had the chance to test the indoor track at Braintree as part of the Press and Practice Day on Monday and all were amazed how fast and how much grip it had. 12 riders took part in the test including Paul Hurry and Edward Kennett - both said it was the best indoor track they had every ridden !They also proved that eight riders per race was going to make one heck of a spetactle and passing was going to be a big part of the racing. The surface held up very well with two hours riding and altough the track will need grading during the meeting,it only takes 3 minutes and it's like brand new again. Roll on the 27th!

RYE HOUSE RAZZLE !

Thanks Jason for organising a fab day of play !

A whole day of practice for just £50 - bargain , and as it was just us slow losers out there - a chance to go round and round and round . We had an open pit and i gained the most track time ever .

Anthony started the proceedings by going straight out and highsiding (did i mention the wet ?) leaving him with a limp all day .

Later when i thought it was safe , i pulled the pin and went for it - straight into the gaurd fence on the exit of turn 4 - the scene of everyones crashes for the day . It was a bit nasty and the chain link fence ripped the top of my glove open and i'm looking at a very swollen hand today !

Later to cheer myself up i highsided there too !

The atmosphere in the pits was relaxed with the Guy who opened the place up for us making us cups of tea all day and generally being very helpfull , thanks mate .

Actually everyone came off a few times and sloshed about in the mud , but after lunch the track dried enough for us to get some proper laps in - resulting in a few ding-dongs out there !

Actually i thought (because of the rain we'd been having ) that it would be a wash out , so bought along my trusty Husaberg 400 enduro - in order to at least have a ride round , but we all went out on it just to see what grip really feels like - and it was amazing ! like being on rails and sideways if you want (Sideburn Ben was particularly enamoured with it as he'd bought his CCM with balding supermoto road tyres) the little 400 motor being nice n soft for the wet .

Nice to see Lez out today looking fit and well (not back on a bike yet ) .

Randall was out on his FTR honda - riding like a man posessed , we spent a few laps chasing each othe unit i decided he'd be usefull to stop my slide as i careered up inside him - whoops !

We all had a bit of a bike swapping session and it was great to finally ride the CO-BUILT rotax , what a light bike that is ! then at the end i was able to ride the marlboro coloured woods bike (even tho i'd just stacked mine !) and we gelled together and i got ten straight laps in at dash-for-cash speed ! What a day .

Wanted to show you some pics i've been sent on e-mail Firstly Gavin's XR750 in TT trim for the road .

What a nice bike eh ? Gavin works at Oxford HD - and you can see what a nice job he does !

The other bike is Nick's project evolving from his iron XR style bike shown here at red Marley hill climb !

The rolling chassias is gonna be a replica of mert's (lawill) iron XR special - a bit like Berelsfords Golioth , but not . Bet i never remembered that right .

UPDATE ! -Nicks just sent me a note - Thanks for pics on you blog --yes you got it correct-lawwills XLR-900cc-predated goliath by about 5 years but both frames built by Jim belland-were made obsolete by xr 750 of which frame and engine were evolved .

Gavin's also working on a C&J framed harley (Cafe Racer), so i'll show you some pic's of that soon !

I Want one - of course , just been to the NEC bike show and sat on one and they've done a great job on it , don't s'pose it'll go or handle like my Sport classic Duke - but i'm not getting rid of that anyway .

Hi Y'all , coming to the end of the season - so i thought i'd post a few pics from some of the shows we've been out n about to over the year !

Think these are from the recent Ardingly jumble/show in Sussex and Sammy millers museum in Hants .

We see more n more Streetrackers on our travels to shows n Jumbles and meet the most interesting people doing it - and some old bastids too !

You can't build a bike just off of Fleabay you know so pile in at the next autojumble and get a bargain and rub shoulders with some real people and roll around on the floor fighting for that Vincent part u don't need !

Oh and smell the oil/rust ! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm nectar .

We may be having a stall at the Show/Jumble this Sunday in Newbury (weather permitting)

Pete Boast . Yep this man wakes up one day and says i'm gonna start a Flattrack series in the UK . so he does .

Then he thinks , now it's good and we've got the best riders in europe fighting over the title, i'm gonna win it . and he does .

Not content with that , he wins both titles (country and western ) no - i mean Shorttrack and Thunderbike titles , back to back .

Then he hops on a plane and thinks , i can win the European championship too . And he does .

He even goes over to the States and tries his luck there , but you can push your luck so far .

Anyway Big up to the main man (as they say over there ) , let's here it for Pete Boast .

SOLD OUT - STOCKED UP - SOLD OUT AGAIN !

Man , what a coupla weeks down here at the Speedshop ! got three boxes of tanks in from the USA and sold em all there n then . So i re-order them from the States again and i still think i'm about two tanks behind on the orders i have taken ! Anyway one box came in today (out of three!) and there were no tanks in it and no tracking info either (weasel did'nt like the sound of this .....) so i'm crossing all my fingers in the vain hope they turn up on monday .Then i gotta order it all again (Thank god for VISA) , if this keeps up i may just break even !

Got loads of new lines in , Tell tale tachs , lights and controls etc

But the best selling stuff at the moment is the Trackmaster tanks i do for Triumph T140 (and other oif bikes) and the new T140 seat (custom made to fit the wide frame rails). Also in is XS650 seats (custom fit to std frame rails).

ROAD TRIP TO PARIS FAT CLUB- OH LA LA A POO POO.

What a weekend we had ! Me n Gary Side and Ben Burn all cooped up in the REDMAX van , loaded with goodies and an XR750 . First off to see the Cool dudes at Ruby Helmets (J&D) http://www.ateliersruby.com/then to a trendy bar that night , with some street trackers parked outside and a who's who of Paris bike life kicking around , i felt like one of the faces .

Anyhoo we thought it'd be a good idea to get the XR out and ride it around the streets with no lid or gear and arrive at the bar , so we did - and it was .

Seb is a great guy from the Fat club M/C dudes http://www.fatclub.fr/and he put us up in his appartment for the night (thanks mate) and then showed us the workshop the club shares in town and his bikes XS flattracker and Buell cafe racer (right up my street). How Super ! They got a Dyno n all there .

Then it was off to Dimities House for a photo shoot with the XR and Ruby helmets for Jerome (one cool Hendrix dude), which i enjoyed immensely (and was given an origional Evel Knievel canyon jump jacket to wear for it !) these guys are on our wavelength ! Spent a while getting Dimitries Triumph streetracker going for which i got to go round the streets on it ! she rode great too . So i sparked up the XR and returned the favour - u shoulda seen the smile on those boy faces !

Not only are they great guys , they got great wives too - and they laid on a Fab Mexican lunch. Thanks Girls , mucho appreciato Senoritas .We of course stayed too long and had to rush around Paris to see the shops we came to visit and were late getting to the Fat club party after the trains broke down in town ! But the guys there were welcoming and set us down with some food near the band and we displayed the XR on the stage too ! there was no room for our stall but we chilled and chatted to the guys until time to go (we were driving overnite to the Chunnel !)

Want some CO-BUILT yokes for my Flattrack project bike .

NO , change that , i want em for all my bikes (and i've got a few !).

Oh yea and while we're at it , i WANT one of his frame kits too .

May have to settle for some Yokes for now tho , Anthony showed me his new Yokes (Triple trees if you're a septic tank) the other day and they are indeed the dogs dangly bits in quality and looks department to , so i need some . Mind you check his whole bike out and you can see the build quality ooozing out , and it's not just a looker he's had a rash of wins on it recently and it's survived a few big offs too ! KEOGH DESIGN - AMA FLATTRACKERS

I know a man , a very nice man - who just happens to be a top motorcycle designer . John Keogh (see http://www.racetaylormade.com/tmpages/design.html)- you may or may not recognise his name but he's done loads and been everywhere ! sensing that , i bought the conversation around to Flatttrack (as i always do !) and he mentioned some designs he did for the AMA in 97 when they were trying to get manufacturers into the then new Non-Harley category . Looking at the pics John sent over , you can see that quite a few of these bikes have arrived on the scene now and it must be nice to look back at stuff you drew up that then materialised in a similar fashion ! It's like Mystic Meg or something .
